SUMMARY

Ayati Devices has successfully raised ₹15 crore (approximately $1.5 million) in a Pre-Series A funding round. The funding round was led by Inflexor Ventures. The additional capital of ₹15 crore will be instrumental in driving the business growth of the company on various operational pillars. The startup will invest these resources carefully to support the growth of the company and commercialisation initiatives. The expansion strategy also includes the Indian domestic market and the global foreign market.

Core objective and incubation journey

The funding will also enable Ayati Devices to substantially improve its manufacturing processes, besides expanding the market. This funding will enable the firm to invest more in crucial research initiatives and AI applications.

As the manufacturing capacity and research/AI capabilities are boosted, Ayati Devices hopes to expand its diagnostic technologies platform and cater to patients and healthcare professionals requiring point-of-care screening systems.

The medical technology startup launched at SINE, IIT Bombay, provided a solid foundation for creating innovations in healthcare. Since its founding in 2019, Ayati Devices has steadily focused on the development of diagnostic engineering solutions designed specifically for diabetic foot complications and peripheral vascular disease.

Ayati Devices focuses on the development of a full set of portable, point-of-care diagnostic devices as the central goal. The devices work at point-of-care and are developed with a specific emphasis on making early diagnostic screening easily accessible beyond large tertiary hospitals.

The company’s portable diagnostic systems allow for prompt diagnostics and assessments away from centralized tertiary care centers, assisting health practitioners in providing timely access to critical screening tools for patients with diabetic foot risk and vascular health concerns.

Clinical expansion and diagnostic product portfolio

Ayati Devices has developed a wide product line covering the various aspects of diabetic foot assessment. A key product in this series is Vibrasense, a diagnostic instrument that assesses the threshold of vibration perception to detect large fibre peripheral neuropathy.

This foundation diagnostic capability was expanded into Vibrasense+T, which adds warm and cold perception testing in addition to vibration threshold measurement. The company specializes in diagnosing neuropathy and has developed a standout peripheral artery disease screening device called Vasosense. The company introduced its Angiocam system to assess tissue health by providing real-time tissue perfusion imaging.

Ayati Devices provides the PODIA Trolley, designed to tackle financial and usability factors affecting healthcare facilities. The PODIA Trolley is a pay-per-test screening model, tailored to minimise upfront capital expenditure for healthcare providers. Comprehensive assessments of neuropathy, blood flow, microcirculation, and plantar pressure are all combined under the current diagnostic platform from Ayati Devices.

Medical tech platform Ayati Devices has been adopted widely and proven across many regions. According to the company, its diagnostic systems have been used in 30 countries across the world. A total of over 10,000 units have already been implemented, including clinical use across major healthcare institutions.

According to data made available by the website of Ayati Devices, their diagnostic solutions have already facilitated over 1,000,000 admissions. The startup proactively engages with diverse healthcare stakeholders in India, as well as those in international markets, to improve access to the point-of-care screening solutions.

Besides its global deployment footprint, the flagship product Vibrasense has been studied extensively to demonstrate its clinical diagnostic utility. The performance of Vibrasense was assessed through a clinical study that recruited 562 type 2 diabetes patients.

This clinical assessment compared the new Vibrasense-based vibration perception to classic biothesiometry and nerve conduction studies in screening for diabetic peripheral neuropathy. This clinical trial testing 562 patients with type 2 diabetes continues to confirm the accuracy of the company’s portable screening technology.

Conclusion

Ayati Devices has achieved a significant milestone with the successful completion of a Pre-Series A funding round worth ₹15 crore, led by Inflexor Ventures. The startup was founded in 2019 by Nishant Kathpal and incubated at IIT Bombay SINE. It has built a solid presence in Point-of-Care diagnostics for diabetic foot complications and general peripheral vascular disease. The company has now deployed over 10,000 devices in 30 countries and recorded more than 1,000,000 screenings, showing significant clinical uptake in both home and international markets.

With this fresh investment of ₹15 crore, Ayati Devices is well on its way to mass commercialisation, scaling up production lines, advancing AI integration, and reaching out to screen diabetic patients at an early stage globally.
