Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) has achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first government-owned transport service enterprise in India to have strategically employed Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology as part of its operations. The primary goal of this innovative move is to raise the efficiency of its operations to a greater degree, save money, and make the experience of its commuters more comfortable, as well as increase the well-being of its workers. In order to implement this ambitious plan, TGSRTC has partnered with Hansa Equity Partners LLP, which would be charged with the responsibility of imparting the technical expertise and training that the employees of this corporation need.

AI-driven scheduling system

The Grand Health Challenge is a distinctive program that serves as the foundation of the AI implementation at TGSRTC and aims to use technology to address the needs of employees. The AI and Machine Learning (ML) is applied to the medical reports of more than 40,000 workers in the program to thoroughly analyze them. 

In this way, it will be able to actively recognize the possible threats to health and encourage the culture of preventive care. This program started as a pilot program, but it has been successful and is currently being extended throughout the corporation to cover all eligible employees.

In addition to improving the health of employees, AI is also being applied to streamline the main processes. A bus service deployment system based on AI is being introduced to automate the deployment of bus services. 

It is a system that will examine various data points such as passenger demand, bus traffic trends, and the trends by the week to optimize the bus fleet and by far minimize wastage. The technology will also come in to track the performance of the employees to make sure that everything that is going on within the corporation is as efficient and transparent as possible.
