SUMMARY

Nua has raised $50 million in its Series C funding round. Peak XV Partners and Filter Capital co-led the fresh investment round. The round also witnessed strong participation from existing investors, including Mirabilis Investment Trust and Footpath Ventures. The investment transaction is composed of a blend of the primary investment and a secondary investment. The secondary transaction segment provided a partial exit to early-stage investors, including Kae Capital, Lightbox VC, and other angel investors.

Financial growth performance

As a result of this Series C, Nua has raised a total amount of approximately $71.5 million since its creation. These total funds include the pre-Series C funding amount of $4 million (₹35 crore). The investment round was led by the Mirabilis Investment Trust in February 2025.

In the last two years, Nua has claimed to increase its annualised revenue run rate remarkably from ₹100 crore to ₹500 crore while remaining profitable throughout.

As per the lead investor, Peak XV, Nua has emerged as the Internet’s second-largest brand in the Women’s wellness category in India.

The $50 million round becomes one of the largest investments in India’s women’s hygiene start-up ecosystem, following Pee Safe’s $32 million round in January this year.

Capital deployment and market presence

The newly acquired funds will be used to drive the brand-building program, expand distribution, and enhance market penetration, as stated by the company in its press release. Nua plans to invest considerable resources in research and development and new product development projects.

Through the growth capital of $50 million, the startup will build on its market penetration strategy in the wider women’s wellness category. The startup intends to construct a wider range of both new physical products and digital services designed to meet the changing health and personal care needs of women and girls.

Established in 2017 by Ravi Ramachandran, Nua is a leading brand offering women-centric wellness solutions. The company’s products are diverse, ranging from core brands including period care, maternity care, and everyday intimate products.

Throughout its history, the business says it has grown a large customer base, serving over 3 million women and girls each month. In addition to its line of physical hygiene and personal care items, Nua has been systematically developing its digital offerings.

These are digital activities with specific consumer touchpoints, including the Nua Period Tracker App and the SecretKeeper chat platform. At the broader retail and direct-to-consumer market level, Nua faces competition from legacy players in personal hygiene like Whisper, Stayfree, Sofy, and many others.

Conclusion

The Series C round, valued at $50 million, serves as a significant milestone in Nua’s journey of growth, continuing its efforts to scale in the Indian hygiene and wellness sector. Major institutional investors such as Peak XV Partners and Filter Capital have backed Nua’s efforts to exceed its annualised revenue run rate from ₹100 crore to ₹500 crore without losing profitability, indicating that it has strong unit economics and customer adoption.

The startup is positioned to consolidate its presence in the market, fuel customer engagement with the growing base of users, capitalise on the rising need for research and development, and deliver integrated digital services to address the evolving health and wellness demands of women and girls nationwide.
