Gnani.ai $10 million Series B funding

SUMMARY

Gnani.ai has raised $10 million in a Series B round. The capital infusion was led by Aavishkaar Capital. The round saw participation from Info Edge Ventures. This investment represents a pivotal moment for Gnani.ai. Gnani.ai seeks to evolve from a regional player to a global leader in the ever-changing space of agentic voice technology.

Fund utilization and foundation

The capital infusion of $10 million will be used to fund several important initiatives to further grow the company. Gnani.ai has stated that a major portion of the funds will be used to fuel the company’s global expansion initiatives. This will allow the company to dive into the opportunities available in other markets, which have an insatiable appetite for cutting-edge voice-first technologies.

Gnani.ai intends to deploy the capital to enhance the development and progression of agentic AI. This step in agentic AI implies that the company will work towards building an autonomous AI system capable of managing sophisticated conversations and requiring limited input from humans.  Gnani.ai also plans to introduce its offerings in the multilingual and industry-specific segments and will be aggressively hiring school graduates in the engineering and product development domains.

Gnani.ai was established in 2016 by Ganesh Gopalan and Ananth Nagaraj. It has developed a powerful platform over the last ten years to satisfy the market. Unlike other companies, which are currently in the experimental phase, Gnani.ai has an already established operational presence.

Gnani.ai claims that its proprietary technology handles over 30 million voice interactions every single day. It also claims that these interactions are conducted in over 12 languages and cater to a diverse portfolio of over 200 enterprise customers.

Leadership and technological innovation

The company’s technology innovation has been recognized at the national level, as it has been selected under the Government of India’s AI mission for sovereign foundational models. Recently, Gnani.ai has developed several impactful tools to set it apart from the usual run-of-the-mill chatbot-like technology.

It includes the development of the five-billion-parameter voice-to-voice model named Inya VoiceOS. It is meant for smooth communication. It has also developed Vachana STT and Vachana TTS, which can be used for speech-to-text and text-to-speech conversion, respectively. The technology is evolving to the point where voice AI is no longer a novelty feature but is being used to ensure smooth customer interactions, irrespective of the accent and language.

The leadership at Aavishkaar Capital believes this is part of the larger movement where deep technology is no longer seen as the preserve of the niche and the passionate but is evolving to become the mainstay of global problem-solving.

The Managing Director at Aavishkaar Capital, Shilpa Maheshwari, said, “Deep-tech is no longer a niche — it is becoming central to solving the defining challenges of our time: agricultural resilience, financial inclusion, climate adaptation, and equitable access to services.”

The Partner at Info Edge Ventures, Chinmaya Sharma, said, “Gnani.ai has built a world-class voice AI platform, positioning itself as the leader both in enterprise as well as sovereign AI categories. We believe the company is well-positioned to become a global leader in agentic voice AI.”
