Ikea is a Swedish furniture company that handed over a deal of 100 million USD to Infosys. The tech  giant won over Capgemini, HCL, and DXC. TOI reported. The deal allows Infosys to offer its IT services  and a service desk of 170k workers with 260k devices in 19 languages for the next five years. This will  affect around 350 positions in Ikea including China, France, Sweden, Germany, Poland, the US, and  India. These workers will be transferred to Infosys and will have access to its services.  

The deal was sealed under the supervision of the EVP & global head of consumer, retail, and logistics at Infosys, Karmesh Vaswani. The Chief digital officer at Ingka Group, Parag Parekh mentioned that the  Ingka Group saw areas to improve the delivery of digital tools and services to co-workers with scale,  flexibility, and speed. Infosys is a global leading consulting and Information Technology service providing company. The firm aims to strengthen its position in the IT sector and provide the best  business solutions, technologies, and IT services across the world.  

The tech giant is expanding into the Nordic region and has previously secured $454 million from a  major deal. This agreement between Ikea and Infosys will be implemented for the next five years. The  deal can be extended up to three times if both parties benefit from it. This IT service provider will also  take Danske Bank’s 1400 employees under its wing according to the signed deal.  

The company had made several large deals for this fiscal year. As a part of a new operating model, the  IT firm is planning to increase its operations in the IT industry and might aim to secure more deals. The  firm offers software development, maintenance, and other IT services to companies in manufacturing,  finance, or other domains.
