Bakingo secures ₹100 crore in Series B funding from Faering Capital.

SUMMARY

Bakingo has raised ₹100 crore (approximately $10.5 million) in its Series B funding round. The investment was funded by the private equity firm Faering Capital, the existing backer. The fresh capital injection arrives just under 3 years following the business previously raising $16 million from Faering Capital in November 2023. The sale represents a key strategic advancement for the company, combining its financial resources and supporting its business growth in the Indian dessert and bakery sector.

Funding round and valuation surge

Faering Capital has maintained its confidence in the parent throughout its development stages, with the fresh funding round reflecting investor trust in the company. This significant capital injection through Series B rounds enables Bakingo to continue expanding its market presence, bolster its operational capacity, and advance its broader market aspirations.

Official regulatory documents filed with the Registrar of Companies reveal that the Bakingo parent outfit FA Gifts Pvt Ltd has approved fresh capital issuance at the board level. The board authorized the issuance of 7,436 Series B preference shares to raise a total amount of ₹100 crore. The new share capital of the Company was contributed through these preference shares, each of which carries a face value of ₹1,34,477.

The proceeds of the financing round shall be used immediately for the general needs of the company and to support growth and expansion within the company’s operating segments, as described in its corporate filings. Structured allocation of preference shares enables FA Gifts Pvt Ltd to direct fresh capital directly to its core business and growth initiatives.

Capital valuation analysis shows that the enterprise value of the company after the transaction is sharply increased. The Bakingo valuation increased by 2.6X and became ₹1,643 crore (approximately $173 million). This is a massive rise from its earlier Series A valuation of ₹627 crore.

As a result of the completion and allotment of the latest equity tranche, Faering Capital now owns an equity stake of 26.31% in the baking firm. The valuation multiplier is a testament to the significant enterprise value increase that occurred during the transition from the Series A to Series B investment rounds, further underscoring the meaningful ownership stake the firm has built in FA Gifts Pvt Ltd.

Financial performance and network footprint

In 2016, Himanshu Chawla, Shrey Sehgal and Suman Patra founded Bakingo. Since its launch in 2016, the business has been seen as a major digital-first player for the online bakery and confectionery category, serving a broad customer base of people wanting cakes and sweets served and delivered when and how they need them.

It provides a range of cakes as well as desserts, with over 400 different cake designs in its portfolio. It has a huge product selection that includes specialty cakes like cheesecakes, gourmet cakes, jar cakes, and even personalized cakes for various celebration days.

Bakingo’s operational structure features more than 100 kitchens spread across more than 30 cities. It supports its broad product line and delivery promises with direct local fulfillment capabilities and the ability to produce a consistent suite of products.

In the financial records, Bakingo has not submitted its official financial statements for FY26. According to the financial records available at the Registrar of Companies, the company made an operating income of ₹300 crore in FY25.

In FY25, Bakingo reported a net loss of ₹16.5 crore on its standalone financial statements filed with regulatory bodies during the same period. Despite facing a standalone loss of ₹16.5 crore in FY25, driven by high operational costs, the revenue target of ₹300 crore in that period has highlighted Bakingo’s enterprise scale with its network of over 100 kitchens in over 30 cities.

Conclusion

Bakingo has secured a significant boost in funding, with the latest Series B round of ₹100 crore led by Faering Capital. The company’s valuation rose by 2.6X from ₹627 crore to ₹1,643 crore (approximately ₹173 crore) since inception in 2016 under its promoters, FA Gifts Pvt Ltd. Bakingo will use the fresh capital to meet its operational needs and support its ongoing growth and expansion activities across the country, as well as to augment its general business operations.
