SUMMARY

Gurugram-based insurance startups InsuranceDekho and RenewBuy have officially announced their merger to form one insurance distribution platform across the whole country. The strategic transaction has enabled the emergence of a combined powerhouse within the Indian insurtech ecosystem.

As per the terms of the agreement, the merged entity will function under the name of InsuranceDekho, which will be launched under the leadership of InsuranceDekho founder and chief executive officer Ankit Agrawal going forward in the overall combined business.

Geographic complementarity and product portfolio

The partnership brings together the unique geographic strengths and physical reach of both platforms throughout the country. InsuranceDekho has a strong and dominant market position in the northern and western markets of India, and RenewBuy adds an established and strong distribution network in the southern markets of India.

The seamless merger of these complementary geographic networks allows for a unified nationwide platform to distribute insurance products to policyholders throughout a variety of geographic and demographic categories.

The integrated platform will offer a comprehensive suite of financial protection products from several leading insurance partners. Customers and Distribution Agents will benefit from a wide range of products including motor insurance, health insurance, life insurance, and customized commercial insurance coverage.

This product line is designed to be a destination product for individual home insurance policies and institutional or commercial insurance needs around the country.

Operationally and technically, the combined company will strive to unify the technology infrastructure of both legacy platforms into a single, streamlined digital platform. The consolidated company will apply cutting-edge artificial intelligence technology to multiple key operational processes.

The AI integrations will be focused on partner onboarding workflows, product recommendation engines, and dynamic insurance advice engines to optimize the insurance buy and sell cycle for both agents and consumers.

Combined operational scale and integration strategy

Based on recent operational performance measures, the unified distribution entity exhibits considerable scale. In FY26, the combined entity collected more than ₹6,600 crore in total premiums through its Point of Sale Person network. With more than 6 lakh digital partners, this integrated enterprise has established a digital presence and has been able to expand its reach both physically and digitally to cover 98.57% of the postal PIN codes in India.

The organizational integration strategy stresses continuity in leadership as well as consolidation in operations. The startup founders of both InsuranceDekho and RenewBuy will remain deeply active in the combined entity, helping with long-term strategy. Technology teams, distribution networks, and teams responsible for product development and day-to-day operations will be integrated and restructured across both organisations.

The strategic partnership will be one of the most formidable and scalable insurance distribution firms capable of bringing insurance products to more people, at greater efficiencies, and into every corner of the country.

Conclusion

The official integration of InsuranceDekho and RenewBuy is a significant development in the relentless consolidation within India’s insurtech industry. With Ankit Agrawal leading the charge, the combined company creates a vast multi-distribution platform for insurance across the country, bringing together separate regional networks in North, West, and South India.
