Lucknow is gearing up to host a significant event focused on healthcare policy and  technology, as the two-day ‘UP AI and Health Innovation Conference’ kicks off on  Monday. This gathering will unite key players from government, healthcare, technology,  and the startup ecosystem. The conference will be inaugurated by Uttar Pradesh Chief  Minister Yogi Adityanath, highlighting the state government’s commitment to harnessing  artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance public healthcare services. 

The primary goal of the conference is to delve into the effective integration of AI within  Uttar Pradesh’s healthcare framework, particularly aiming to boost access, efficiency,  and the overall quality of care. Attendees will include policymakers, healthcare  professionals, technology experts, researchers, and startups from across India and  beyond, making it one of the most extensive discussions on AI-driven health innovation  at the state level. 

Focusing on Policy, Digital Infrastructure, and AI Adoption 

The event will revolve around crucial themes such as AI-enabled healthcare delivery,  digital public infrastructure, and the necessary policy frameworks for the safe and  responsible adoption of emerging technologies. Detailed discussions will cover topics  like AI-based diagnostics, telemedicine, population health management, and health  data governance. 

On the first day, sessions will aim to unpack the broader implications of AI in  healthcare, drawing insights from global best practices and international case studies.  The agenda will also include discussions on India’s digital health initiatives, such as the  Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission, alongside considerations of data privacy,  interoperability, and ethical aspects of AI deployment. Experts will assess the current 

landscape of AI applications in healthcare across various Indian states, spotlighting  successes, challenges, and valuable insights. 

Highlighting Practical Applications and Frontline Healthcare 

The second day will shift focus to practical implementation and real-world applications.  Sessions will investigate how AI tools can assist doctors, nurses, ASHA workers, and  anganwadi workers in enhancing early diagnosis, treatment outcomes, and patient  follow-up. 

A particular emphasis will be placed on expanding telemedicine services in rural and  remote regions, alongside AI-driven diagnostics in areas such as radiology, tuberculosis  screening, pathology, and cancer care. These discussions aim to pinpoint scalable  solutions that can be integrated into Uttar Pradesh’s public health system. 

Showcasing Startups, Innovation Zones, and State Roadmaps 

A standout feature of the conference will be startup pitch sessions, where healthtech  and AI startups will showcase their solutions to policymakers and potential partners.  There will also be discussions on formulating AI roadmaps for states, providing a  structured framework for the sustainable adoption of AI technologies. 

An Innovation and Experience Zone will be established at the venue, highlighting AI based healthcare solutions, pilot projects, and innovations from startups already in  action in Uttar Pradesh. Live demonstrations will give participants a tangible glimpse of  how technology can revolutionise healthcare delivery. 

High-Level Participation from Government and Global Institutions 

The inaugural session will see the presence of several senior leaders, including Union  Minister Jitin Prasada, Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, IT and Electronics Minister  Sunil Kumar Sharma, Minister of State for IT and Electronics Ajit Singh Pal, and Minister  of State for Health and Family Welfare Mayankeshwar Sharan Singh. 

Senior bureaucrats such as Manoj Kumar Singh, CEO of the State Transformation  Commission, Amit Kumar Ghosh, Additional Chief Secretary for Medical Health and  Medical Education, and Anurag Yadav, Principal Secretary for IT and Electronics, will  also address the gathering. 

Representatives from NITI Aayog, the National Health Authority, and the Ministry of  Electronics and Information Technology, along with experts from global organisations  like the World Health Organization (WHO), World Bank, Gates Foundation, and Google,  are expected to contribute across various sessions. 

This conference underscores Uttar Pradesh’s ambition to establish itself as a  frontrunner in the large-scale adoption of AI-led healthcare innovations.
