The AI startup Ingenious Research Solutions received funding from the Ministry of Defence to develop AI tools to enhance the defense and security of India. Ingenious Research Solutions was founded by  Dr. Shivani Verma to offer services including satellite image analysis systems, and drone detection  systems, among others. India aims to upgrade its defense, corporate, law enforcement, and public  infrastructure with AI tools. 

This AI startup is working in collaboration with the Defense Research and Development Organisation  to develop AI tools with enhanced security, and reliability in individual identification, and Authentication. The Ministry of Defence mentioned that this Noida-based startup has developed an AI  tool named “Divya Drishti” to integrate facial recognition of individuals based on their physical  parameters including skeleton and gait. The Ministry of Defense added that this dual approach will  enhance the accuracy of identification leading to minimal risk of identity fraud.  

This application can be used in various sectors including defense, corporate, public infrastructure, law  enforcement, and hospitality. The chairman of DRDO, Samir V Kamat mentioned that Drivya Drishti was developed as a testament to DRDO’s initiative under the Technology Development Fund to  promote AI and defense startups and achieve the “Aatmanirbhar Bharat” goal. The government is  offering various programs to focus on these startups and help them scale up and enhance their  technology.  

This scheme was raised by the defense ministry to help startups and MSMEs scale up their operations  by offering them funding, mentorship, technical assistance, and resources to develop new tools and  technology for the defense industry. Ingenious Research startup offers AI solutions, Unmanned ground  vehicles, drone detection, and tracking systems. The Indian defense and aerospace industry is  predicted to grow and reach the 70 billion USD mark by 2030.
