WATER has raised $2.5 million in a seed funding round. The investment was led by Endiya Partners. Endiya Partners is an early-stage venture capital firm. Prominent angel investors participated in the seed funding round. Angel investors including Pullela Gopichand, Rohit Chennamaneni, and Nandan Reddy also participated in the seed funding round.

Capital investment and core innovations

The funds raised in this seed round of $2.5 million will be spent largely on technical validation. WATER is aiming to capitalise on these resources while developing and developing an intelligence layer suitable for adaptive surfaces. 

As per the official press release shared by WATER, this core technology has wide industrial potential for commercialisation, spanning different sectors including automotive, aviation, and other key industry sectors. WATER was established by Teja Vinukollu and Haneesh Mourya Desu in 2024. WATER is a Hyderabad-based deeptech and physical hardware company. 

The firm is creating adaptive surfaces, marked by early prototype furniture such as the FLOW chair and the CAMA bed. These innovative products are based on VORTEX, the startup’s bedrock model for understanding and interpreting the interactions of the human body with its immediate physical world.

WATER said its adaptive products work through an integrated network of sensing, decision-making, and physical actuating mechanisms that directly interact with the human body in real time. The FLOW chair is designed to specifically concentrate on sitting interactions, tracking sitting posture, movement, and physical loading elements. 

The CAMA bed is designed to prioritize sleep, body recovery, and respiration patterns. WATER will apply this new underlying technology to a far wider variety of physical environments than the chair and beds themselves, such as other physical venues in which surfaces and embedded systems can dynamically respond to the needs of the human user.
