SUMMARY

JobsUPI has raised $250K in a pre-seed funding round. The investment was led by IIMA Ventures, with additional participation from angel investors. The startup was founded in 2025 by Shrey Bansal and Shubham Periwal. JobsUPI aims to improve the process of delivering employment opportunities to job seekers and employees, using the latest developments in artificial intelligence, in a multilingual and multimodal manner, whereby language and technology barriers do not become obstacles in employment.

Strategic positioning and vision

JobsUPI is intentionally identifying underserved markets in the job market in India, especially in smaller towns and rural areas where conventional digital platforms have not had the same footprint. The company was founded with one stark reality.

Nearly 60 crore people are employed in India, across millions of MSMEs, NGOs, and formal businesses, but only 20% of those people are now linked with digital job platforms. The startup argues that this appears to be not for lack of available talent, but a lack of infrastructure or job discovery systems to match it. JobsUPI aims to shape a more diversified and inclusive digital economy driven by these overlooked segments.

India’s Unified Payments Interface (UPI) is a major inspiration behind the vision of JobsUPI. The founders wanted to develop a “Jobs Unified People Interface” to help match people with jobs in real time nationwide. JobsUPI has a different idea of a job portal; it is different from the job portals that just serve as listing sites. It is an infrastructure-led platform for the public good.

The objective is to develop an open and inclusive system as a national employment infrastructure. Through Voice AI, it enables job seekers to interact in their native language, making the job searching process a lot more user-friendly for blue-collar and skilled employees who might not be at ease with digital interfaces in English.

Capital deployment and evolving market

Through the infusion of $250K, JobsUPI has established definite goals for its future expansion. This capital is aimed at strengthening the platform’s product capabilities, with a particular focus on boosting the strength and scalability of Voice AI and multilingual features.

The company aims to grow its networks and territory. Operations are mostly concentrated in North India, with plans to extend its geographical footprint to new areas. As per the overall long-term vision, these initiatives will contribute towards creating 100 million jobs and support 10 million MSMEs and large enterprises to attract, recruit, and employ people more efficiently and transparently.

JobsUPI has emerged in a competitive space where established players like Apna, Smartstaff, and AamDhanE are also competing. Its narrow niche application of vernacular technology and voice-specific interactions, however, provides a distinct advantage in connection with non-English speaking and semi-urban labor markets. Employers are increasingly attracted to employment technology, solving disintermediation in hiring and advancing digital inclusion.

JobsUPI’s mission finds its fertile ground in the rise of smartphones and the growing formalization of various sectors of the labor market. It has targeted “Bharat” and the local realities of employment, making it an ideal platform for change at the grassroots level of hiring.

Conclusion

The platform’s focus on multilingual voice technology overcomes the current drawbacks of traditional job boards, making it a truly inclusive national infrastructure. As the business grows and its technology matures, it has clear potential to affect the lives of millions of workers and MSMEs. The vision of JobsUPI is not limited to establishing a business; it’s about creating a future where finding a job is as effortless as conducting a digital payment for the people of India.
