DocPharma Raises $2 Million in Pre-Series A Funding Led by Equentis

SUMMARY

DocPharma is a prescription-compliant quick commerce supply chain platform specializing in the healthcare sector. DocPharma has raised $2 million in its pre-Series A funding round. The investment round was led by Equentis. It is a crucial endorsement of the healthcare quick-commerce segment. Existing investor 100Unicorns played an active role in the funding round, as did a smaller group of strategic angel investors who came on board to support the company in its next stage of development.

Capital deployment and technology integration

The additional funds of $2 million will be invested effectively to accelerate the company’s physical and technical infrastructure growth. The company intends to use these funds to open 100 new licensed dark stores in major markets to expand the company’s operational presence from more than 12 major cities to more than 50 major cities.

The capital will be used to enhance its core technical competence and strengthen its fulfilment system, enabling faster shipping times. DocPharma was established by Saquib Ali, Shashank Rai and Sagar Chauhan.

DocPharma functions as a backend logistics company with special supply chain infrastructure rather than an e-pharmacy service directly catering to consumers. The startup business model works on resolving problems of healthcare logistics involving rapid commerce, compliance with regulations, prescription validation, and cold-chain storage.

The company’s business model is centred on a proprietary platform, known as DocPharma One. This software-as-a-service system automatically integrates warehouse management, stock intelligence, order routing, and prescription-compliant fulfillment into one comprehensive architecture.

The proprietary platform facilitates instant inventory management with inventory levels in more than 40,000 Stock Keeping Units (SKUs) in dark stores. Building direct connections to partner systems allows DocPharma to deliver medicines and healthcare products in under 30 minutes, ensuring high availability and zero orders failed.

Operational metrics and investor support

DocPharma has established a strong B2B2C footprint throughout India’s healthcare ecosystem. It currently supports over 30 healthcare wellness platforms, including e-pharmacies, hospitals, healthcare insurance companies, corporate wellness platforms, and any direct-to-consumer health brand.

Over 800,000 orders have been successfully processed and fulfilled by the company’s tech-enabled network. During this volume scaling, DocPharma continued an operating fulfillment rate above 95%, highlighting the efficiency of its dark store model.

Dedicated Fulfillment Centers are capacity-efficient facilities built to meet the demands of online order fulfillment exclusively, along with legal requirements and fast, efficient shipping from localized delivery teams.

Manish Goel, Founder Director of Equentis, said that the healthcare industry is one of the fastest-growing industries in India, but the healthcare supply chain has been historically fragmented. He emphasized that DocPharma has taken steps to close this structural divide by successfully designing and developing a platform with the combination of its licensed physical infrastructure, AI-enabled software, and comprehensive operational expertise into a highly scalable healthcare delivery engine.

With its network of compliant dark stores located near the end-consumer, DocPharma allows its partner platforms to ensure the fulfillment of quick-commerce promises in a safe and reliable manner.

The support and collaboration provided by Equentis, 100Unicorns, Vinners, and strategic angels visually illustrate how this industry is emerging as a need for unique, technology-driven supply chain solutions that could help transform in which medicine is distributed throughout the nation.

Conclusion

The $2 million pre-Series A round, successfully co-led by Equentis, is a pivotal moment for DocPharma in their journey towards revolutionizing the healthcare logistics landscape. DocPharma’s growth strategy involves the deployment of over 50 dark stores across more than 100 cities and the creation of new fulfilment centres, positioning it as an essential backend platform for all healthcare players nationwide.

The startup still has the ability to close the regulatory compliance and under 30-minute healthcare divide in India with its proprietary DocPharma One platform and robust operational metrics.
